This week’s episode is all about minimalism, simplifying and decluttering, and why I think it pairs really well with living a life that is simpler and more intentional. I am absolutely clear that it’s by no means essential, but for me they pair up really naturally.

Essential: essays by The Minimalists, by Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus (they have also written Everything That Remains and Minimalism, and their website, The Minimalists). They also have an excellent podcast - the older episodes are a better introduction to minimalism than their more recent ones, which can get a bit existential.
Jen Chillingsworth has a very simple little book called Live Green: 52 steps for a more sustainable life which has some really accessible ideas about simplifying in it. Her blog is also a joy, filled with simple but beautiful ideas.
The Slow Home Podcast - again, head for older episodes of this podcast to get more of an introduction into slow, simple living.
The Year of Less by Cait Flanders isn’t a minimalist book per se, but the mindset shift is very similar, and it’s a great read.
Clutterfree With Kids by Joshua Becker is something of a simplistic read at times, but it’s a great book if you’re just starting out and aren’t sure how to apply this whole thing when you have children.
The Life Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo.
Five minutes a day. No link for this one. You declutter for five minutes every day. Or set yourself a one bin liner a day challenge, or whatever feels manageable on a daily basis.
